The author reflects on the shift of earth's history as it enter a new geological epoch wherein humans compete with the natural geological forces that shape the landscape. According to the author, a pre-Anthropogenic system has been disturbed and new driving forces and boundary conditions have been introduced due to the negative results of the interaction of man and the environment. He added on the need to safeguard rivers, forests, oceans and wetlands.
