- Abstract
This article[1] makes no mention of turmeric. The BMJ[2] suggested that it may be as effective as PPIs. While agreeing that lifestyle is important, the BJGP article also was somewhat dismissive of the long-term risks of PPIs (their reference 23). Perhaps we need to make sure that PPIs are prescribed as a one-off and any regular long-term situation has the potential risks (and benefits) explained and documented. We often see drugs such as SSRIs and gabapentinoids being used long-term without a clear understanding of their long-term risks and benefits.By John SharvillReported by Author
