- Title
Schlichtung im Personenverkehr trotz Pandemie erfolgreich.
- Abstract
The Journal for Conflict Management reports on a new dispute resolution procedure in New Zealand for the .nz domain. The Domain Name Commission NZ (DNC) has launched an online platform where disputes related to .nz domains can be resolved out of court. The procedure includes the electronic exchange of written submissions as well as the option of negotiation via chat and mediation through live video conferences. The 2021 annual report of the Arbitration Board for Public Transport (söp) demonstrates how the arbitration board successfully operates despite fluctuations in business volume due to the pandemic. The report emphasizes the importance of agile management, constructive teamwork, and optimized digitally supported processes. The success record of söp shows that over 80% of the submitted arbitration requests could be resolved amicably. The EU Commission is planning a report on alternative dispute resolution and online dispute resolution for consumer disputes and is conducting a public consultation on this matter. Additionally, the EU is planning the digitalization of justice and facilitating the use of video conferences for cross-border hearings.
