- Abstract
In this article, the author who is president of Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA), discusses the redemption at the juvenile justice system. It mentions that the decision of U.S. Supreme Court in the case Miller v. Alabama on prohibition of cruel and unusual punishment forbids a sentencing scheme that mandates life in prison. It also mentions decision of U.S. Supreme Court in the case Montgomery v. Louisiana on mandatory life without parole sentences for juvenile offenders.
