- Title
Margaret and the Festival Book: The French Royal Entry in the Renaissance: the Status of the Printed Text.
- Authors
Cooper, Richard
- Abstract
Margaret McGowan's work has shown how the author of the I livret i , who may well have been closely involved in the planning, sought to boast of the original concept, and to reshape his narrative to show that concept off in its best possible light. In a seminal article published under this title in 2007,[1] Margaret McGowan laid out some guidelines for approaching the study of festival books, guidelines derived from her own long experience of studying and editing such texts. Margaret McGowan pointed out that, for the 1571 Paris Entry, the author Simon Bouquet only describes the events organised by the city, leaving out other initiatives.
