- Authors
CORDNER, MICHAEL
- Abstract
An essay is presented on the play "The Malcontent" by John Marston and its use of material derived from William Shakespeare's play "Hamlet." It seeks to identify and analyze one dimension of the perspectives upon the play opened up by rehearsals. It describes Marston's play as a revenge play written for a children's company, the Children of the Queen's Revels, with a script that feeds off detailed recollection of the adult company Globe Playhouse.
