POETRY IN REVIEW.
- Authors
Arnold, Craig
- Abstract
An essay is presented which discusses autopoetic poetry, in which poets talk to themselves. He suggests that another mode of poetry exists in which poets address an "other" and create unique characters within their poems. Particular attention is given to the poems "What Narcissism Means to Me" by Tony Hoagland and "Shattered Sonnets, Love Cards, and Other Off and Back Handed Importunities" by Olena Kalytiak Davis.
