- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights on the engagement of domestic violence (DV) and sexual assaults (SA) victim-advocates and counselors in biographical work to become competent service providers. The author discusses the role of Stopping Abuse in Family Environments (SAFE), an agency helping DV and SA victims that practice enthusiasm and competence. He believes that empowerment and professionalism, when applied appropriately by advocates and counselors are evenly useful to the clients.
