- Abstract
This article discusses the increasing use of Web logs, also known as blogs. Blogs are informal online journals maintained by individuals that can serve useful functions for organizations. Blogs can be used by organizations to: maintain communication between managers and employees; host workgroup discussion; facilitate communication among employees; provide a forum for the chief executive officer; develop customer relations; and recruit new employees. There are also hostile web logs. Most of these exist to warn consumers and potential job applicants of the shortcomings of particular corporations.
