- Abstract
The article discusses the most common form of nonparental child care in the U.S. called the family, friend and neighbor (FFN) care, and cites some literature learned about FFN care. It defines FFN as a generally unlicensed home-based care provided by relatives, more often grandmothers, or by friends and neighbors. It describes the Minnesota FFN Grant Program, the first program passed through legislation that support FFN providers, and present findings from an evaluation of the program, as to program implementation and recommended enhancements.
