- Abstract
The article outlines the development of the Industrial Chemical Engineering Industry worldwide. In 1974, the Health & Safety at Work Act was enacted thus mandating companies to prioritize safety, health and environmental protection. When the publication first published safety, it was usually controlled by a number of individual procedures aimed at controling routine operations including permit to work and vessel entry. Eventhough the government already implemented various rule in industrial safety, several companies still failed to reduce industrial accidents. To address the problem, it is suggested that senior management understands the principals underlying process safety management.
