- Abstract
Reports that the European Union Parliament has given the preliminary go-ahead to the Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals, a legislation that would bring extensive toxicity testing of both new and existing chemicals. Dissatisfaction of stakeholders to the measure; Requirement for chemicals produced at levels of more than 1,000 tonnes per year to go through a full range of tests; Compromise introduced to meet the requirements of the legislation by several lobbying groups.
