- Authors
MASIA, SETH
- Abstract
The author discusses the installation of a photovoltaic (PV) system on the rooftop of a small 1894 farmhouse in Paonia, Colorado, to generate solar energy. He states that a row of nine modules were mounted as an awning structure totaling 2.6 kilowatts. The modules on the awning were supported by a frame and three steel posts to avoid snow falling off the roof and damaging the modules. Following the installation there has been an output of 15.5 kWh working out to be $2.27 per watt.
