- Abstract
Multiple small additional protruding thrombi in the descending thoracic aorta and suprarenal abdominal aorta were observed during CT angiography (Fig. CT angiography of the whole aorta and workup for hypercoagulable conditions might be required when thromboembolism caused by thrombus formation without atherosclerosis in the ascending aorta is observed. Several aortic thrombus cases without atherosclerosis caused by coagulopathy associated with iron deficiency anemia (IDA) have been reported.
