- Title
CAMPBELL SOUP'S CUTTING-EDGE CASH MANAGEMENT.
- Authors
MOSS, JAMES D.
- Abstract
The article refers to a successful reorganization of cash management and treasury operations at Campbell Soup Co. in the 1980s. The reorganization of the treasury department's operations was based on the size of the company and its degree of centralization for cash accounting transactions, which indicate how much specialization and automation is needed. The organization's treasury management system is on a local area network that supplies information to those who manage and control cash resources and makes intercompany cash management and the international netting system more efficient. Data shows the costs savings in terms of banking fees for cash management services during 1985 to 1991. The organization's treasury-department projects for 1992 are mentioned.
