- Title
Integration, Isolation or Deviation: Reading Galatians 3:27–28 in Indonesia Today.
- Authors
Prior, John Mansford
- Abstract
Galatians 3:27–28 has been interpreted as referring either solely to God's impartiality and to future life under God's Reign or as also implying the way we should order our Christian communities, and so mission in the wider world today. The former spiritualised reading strongly influences the minority Christian communities in Indonesian cities today. This essay looks at the mission imperative of returning to a social reading of Gal 3:27–28 and living out the egalitarian baptismal confession in its prophetic radicality in multi-ethnic and multi-religious contexts such as Southeast Asia.
