- Abstract
Teachers are well situated to introduce students to personal protection, and specifically physical Halt Assault protection movements. Teachers have built up a level of trust, understanding and respect with their students. This article is the third and final in the series in which we discuss Step 3 (Assertiveness) of incorporating a personal protection unit into your high school Physical Education class. The article reviews when, where and how to strike, general safety guidelines when teaching, an individual's legal right to physically protect him or herself, and it provides assessment strategies.
