- Abstract
According to the nonlinear characteristics of hybrid energy storage system (HESS) of electric vehicle, a new nonlinear adaptive control method is proposed. The HESS consists of two mam pasts, a fuel cell (FC) stack and a supercapacitor (SC) group. The battery acts as a primary energy storage device that is connected to the boost converter, and the super capacitor acts as an auxiliary energy system that is coupled to the bidirectional DC-DC converter. Both converters share the same DC link for power exchange. Based on the two energy storage devices and connection converters, a global mathematical model of the system is obtained. In the design process of the proposed control scheme, an adaptive estimation technique, which considers the unknown parameters of the battery/supercapacitor hybrid system model, is applied. To ensure the stability of the control system, the Lya-punov function is used to analyze the stability of the system The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
