- Title
Identification and functional analysis of an immunosuppressant molecule, sL2, in Ixodes persulcatus ticks.
- Authors
Takada, Haruna
- Abstract
The article focuses on a study that identifies and analyzes the immunosuppressant molecule sialostatin sL2 (sL2) which is a tick salivary gland protein derived from derived from Ixodes scapularis. It states that sL2 inhibits the activation of cysteine protease and suppresses the cytotoxic T cells due to its anti-inflammatory activity. It mentions that recombinant sL2 can be used in the formation of an anti-tick vaccine.
