- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the metabolic mechanisms of fat accumulation in the pre-hibernation period in Japanese black bear. The study investigates the alterations in blood biochemical values and glucose and insulin responses to intravenous glucose tolerance tests (IVGTT). The study reveals that the Japanese bears have a unique metabolic mechanism of fat accumulation in the pre-hibernation period.
