The article presents a case study of a 54-year old man who consulted about a long-standing cough. He presented with a chesty cough eight months prior to his consultation associated with a feverish illness and an upper respiratory tract infection. He was prescribed a course of antibiotics. He was smoking for about 15 years but has quit in his mid-thirties.
