Hepatozoon spp. E AGENTE ANAPLASMATACEAE EM CACHORRO-DO-MATO (Cerdocyon thous) NO MUNICÍPIO DE SEROPÉDICA - RJ: RELATO DE CASO.

- Abstract
Agentes Anaplasmataceae e Hepatozoon spp. já foram relatados em mamíferos selvagens no Brasil. Recentemente, novos genótipos, dentre eles Ehrlichia spp. cepa raposa, foram descritos infectando cachorro-do-mato (Cerdocyon thous). O objetivo do presente estudo foi relatar a ocorrência de agente Anaplasmataceae e Hepatozoon spp. em um cachorro-do-mato e suas implicações nos achados laboratoriais. O animal, filhote, apresentou ao exame clínico desidratação, rigidez em membros, inclinação de cabeça (head tilt) e secreção ocular purulenta bilateral, suspeitando-se de cinomose, raiva e lesão em quadril e membros posteriores. Foi realizado hemograma, bioquímicas séricas e teste imunocromatográfico de cinomose (antígeno), cujos resultados foram: Anemia normocítica normocrômica (hematócrito 16%, VGM 73,1fL, CHGM 31,3g/dL), leucocitose (18000/µL), neutrofilia (15120/µL), monocitose (360/µL), plaquetas dentro da normalidade (336000/µL), aumento de ALT (110U/L), hipoproteinemia (4,8g/dL), hipoalbuminemia (1,5g/dL) e teste de cinomose negativo. Após 29 dias realizou-se novos exames, obtendo hematócrito (42,6%), leucócitos totais (10600/µL) e plaquetas (416000/µL) sem alterações, neutropenia (5406/µL), linfocitose (3604/µL) e monocitose (424/µL). Na avaliação microscópica evidenciou-se inclusões em plaquetas e leucócitos sugestivas de hemoparasitas da família Anaplasmataceae e gênero Hepatozoon, respectivamente. Mórulas de agentes Anaplasmataceae podem ser observadas na fase aguda, apresentando alterações laboratoriais como anemia normocítica normocrômica, leucocitose ou leucopenia e trombocitopenia cíclica, corroborando com o relato. Apesar da trombocitopenia ser relatada, é frequente observar animais infectados sem alterações em plaquetas, pois tendem a diminuir conforme há cronificação da doença. A leucocitose neutrofílica também pode ser atribuída ao estresse. Hepatozoon spp. é frequentemente considerado um achado laboratorial sem relevância clínica, porém infecção pelo agente já foi observada em canídeos selvagens jovens associados a doença clínica, principalmente em animais imunocomprometidos, onde apresentam anemia, leucocitose, trombocitopenia, hipoalbuminemia e aumento de enzimas hepáticas, corroborando com o relato, exceto trombocitopenia que pode ou não estar presente na fase aguda. O diagnóstico através de provas moleculares foi inacessível, porém, com base nas alterações laboratoriais e inclusões em leucócitos e plaquetas, sugere-se co-infecção por Hepatozoon spp. e agente Anaplasmataceae. É imprescindível associar técnicas moleculares, como a reação em cadeia da polimerase (PCR), para confirmar o diagnóstico e diferenciar gêneros e espécies desses agentes devido ao escasso conhecimento sobre hemoparasitas de animais selvagens.
