- Abstract
This paper analyses the effect of photovoltaic and wind power plants on the price of the electric market and the effect on the power dispatched by the generation plants when two different trading strategies are used. The first strategy assumes that renewable plants compete with same conditions that the other plants in an open energy market, based on a bid price. The second strategies prioritize the dispatch of renewable power plants, and then dispatch the other plants in order of merit. For the study an ideal case was solved using the technique of optimization of "replicator dynamics", that is a technique based on the theory of games. The results indicate that in a perfect competition market, wind and photovoltaic plants cannot dispatch the full power generated, but neither significantly affect the power and marginal utility of other plants. On the other hand, giving benefits to renewables plants guarantees the dispatch of the full available power, but affects the participation of other competitors in the market and increase marginal utility and price for customers.
