- Title
Transmit Quality Among Modern Transceivers (Pt II).
- Authors
Howell, Frank M.
- Abstract
The article discusses the transmit quality among modern transceivers, specifically focusing on their transmit noise and receive performance. The author analyzes data on HF transceivers and finds that there is a modest relationship between better receive performance and lower transmit noise. However, there is no single transceiver that excels in both variables. The article also examines the relationship between transmit noise, market-entry price, and satisfaction, and finds that there is no evidence that higher prices result in "dirtier" transmit noise. The author concludes by suggesting that readers examine the data to identify transceivers that match their technical desires and preferences.
