- Title
Sterically Demanding Aryl Chlorides: No Longer a Problem for Borylations.
- Authors
Vogels, Christopher M.; Westcott, Stephen A.
- Abstract
The article discusses the developments in boron chemistry, highlighting the borylation of aryl halides. This reaction changed a series of aryl bromides and iodes into the corresponding aryl boronate esters with the addition of bis(pinacolato)diborane (B2pin2). It is noted that the best catalyst systems for the said borylation reaction were those based on a palladium source comprising electron-rich and sterically demanding phosphane or carbene ligands.
