- Abstract
The article discusses issues on torture and abuse in the U.S. It states that U.S. President Barack Obama failed to honor his declaration that nobody is above the law when his Justice Department proclaimed its intention to grant a free pass to officials of U.S. President George W. Bush and their lawyers who constructed a regime of torture and abuse. Over 100 detainees died in U.S. custody, many of them were reportedly due to torture.
