- Authors
Berg, Rebecca
- Abstract
The article discusses the appearance of lice in a public library at a computer station in the Publications Room. Topics include cleanup of the lice, which included the use of bleach and a pest control contractor, and the quarantine of the infected computers. Also discussed are the hypotheses by which the lice got from the fifth floor, the main site of the infestation, to the fourth floor, and the possible source of the pests, such as homeless people. Comments are provided by Lawrence Pong, the principal environmental health inspector for the San Francisco (California) Department of Public Health.
