- Abstract
Objetivo: A sepse representa a principal causa de morte nas unidades de terapia intensiva. Apresenta-se com altas taxas de mortalidade, sendo a doença que mais gera custos para as unidades de saúde. Este trabalho objetiva identificar dados epidemiológicos referentes a septicemia no estado do Paraná a fim de elucidar sua repercussão na morbimortalidade, bem como seu impacto econômico. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, de corte transversal com dados secundários referentes ao período de 2007 a 2017. Os dados - internações, taxa de mortalidade e custos totais - foram obtidos do Sistema de Informações Hospitalares do SUS (SIH/SUS), especificamente do capítulo I do CID-10 (Algumas doenças infecciosas e parasitarias). Os valores encontrados foram analisados estatisticamente com o auxílio do programa Excel. Resultados: Foram analisadas 59.869 internações por sepse no período estudado. A sepse representou 14% do total de internamentos realizados, com taxa de mortalidade de 39,31, a maior dentro do grupo estudado. O valor total gasto com sepse no Paraná foi de R$199.230.548,20, se apresentando como a mais dispendiosa das morbidades em questão, responsável por 39,8% do total de gastos analisados. A média de crescimento dos investimentos referente à sepse foi de 14,9% ao ano. Conclusão: O estudo evidenciou expressiva taxa de morbimortalidade por septicemia durante o período analisado. Ademais, constatou-se elevados gastos referentes ao manejo da doença, com crescimento permanente. Diante disso, evidencia-se a importância do conhecimento epidemiológico para planejamento de ações de saúde pública no combate a essas estatísticas.
