- Abstract
The paper deals with the theoretical analysis of health as a holistic conception and the significance of psychophysiological personality's education in the context of education system and healthcare system. The paper deals with the theoretical analysis of professional competencies realization in practice of psychophysiological education specialists -- physical therapists and specialists of physiotherapy in education considering that these specialists are specializing in rehabilitation and education fields. A research was performed using a questionnaire. The research was aimed to compare the realization of professional competences in the practical work of a physical therapists and the specialists of physiotherapy in education. The methodology and methods of research- 1. Questionnaire quiz (closed type). 2. Mathematical statistical analysis. Data was analyzed, compared using SPSS and MC EXCEL software. t- Value- Pearsons Chi- Square meaning, df -- freedom degree number, Asymp. Sig. (2-sided) -- criterion p value: • when p≤ 0,05 -- there are statistically significant differences, • when p> 0,05 -- there are no statistically significant differences. 200 respondents (physical therapists and specialists of physiotherapy in education) from Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, Panevėžys and other cities participated in this research. A purpose to compare the functional abilities, communication and collaboration abilities as well as the development of practical activity abilities realization in practice of physical therapists and the specialists of physiotherapy in education was established in the empirical part. The most important empirical findings and conclusions that were drawn are: 1. Functional competencies (such as the determining and formulation of the diagnosis of physical therapy, making of individual/sectional occupations programs, use of more various methodologies and methods in practice, estimating the effectiveness of physical therapy) are realized in practice much more by physical therapists than by the specialists of physiotherapy in education. 2. We found that communication and collaboration competencies (such as skills to work in team, involvement of patients/families into physical therapy process, giving recommendations) were realized in practice much more often by the specialists of physiotherapy in education. 3. The answers of the survey demonstrated that the competencies of the development of practical activity were more realized by the specialists of physiotherapy in education.
