- Authors
Hasson, Matt
- Abstract
The article focuses on the remarks by surgeon Mark G. Speaker during Refractive Subspecialty Day preceding the American Academy of Ophthalmology meeting about presbyopia correction techniques. Surgical techniques for treating presbyopia which were approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration include monovision LASIK, conductive keratoplasty and intraocular lens (IOL) implantation. Speaker spoke about the status of multifocal or presby-LASIK, corneal inlays under investigation, and the effect of the use of pharmacologic agents on elasticity loss.
