The article reports on a study about cases of corneal ectasia after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). According to it, post-LASIK ectasia can be caused by a variety of risk factors that affect corneal biostability. It states that the need for surgeons to measure residual corneal thickness before and during surgery has been emphasized by the results of this study.
