- Abstract
Hedyotis pubicaulis, a new species from China is described and photographed. It resembles H. uncinella in having herbal habit, tetragonal stem, sessile glomerate inflorescences, and dehiscent capsules, but it can be easily distinguished by having densely pubescent stem, truncate to triangular stipules with 6-14 bristles and only axillary glomerate inflorescence. The molecular phylogenetic analysis revealed that the new species was embedded in the genus Hedyotis. The new species is evaluated as Least Concern according to IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.
