- Abstract
The article discusses research on the microstructural maturization of the visual system, with emphasis on organizational differences of the architecture of fiber tracts between children and adults in dorsal and ventral visual streams. Based on the findings, dorsal visual stream pathways increased in volume during development. Anticipated maturational differences were shown by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) indices. It notes the potential contribution of continuing maturation of intra- and interhemispheric connectivity to the system's development.
