- Abstract
The article presents case studies on the use of the multigene panel testing method, also known as next-generation gene sequencing, to determine the genes responsible for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome and Lynch syndrome. Topics discussed include the oncology genetics community's concern on the use of the method and the implications of the studies for genetic nurses, such as the need to assess a family history to identify the patients who could benefit from a genetic assessment.
