- Abstract
Reports on the effect of a short course of treatment with high-dose vancomycin in combination with Saccharomyces boulardii on the prevention of subsequent recurrences of Clostridium difficile disease (CDD). Finding that CDD is the most frequently identified cause of nosocomial diarrhea, colitis and pseudomembranous colitis; Decrease in recurrences in patients treated with high-dose vancomycin and placebo.
