- Abstract
Quasi-Newton method is one of the most effective methods for solving nonlinear equations. In this paper, we improve convergence results of a BFGS trust region quasi-Newton method for nonlinear equations. The global and superlinear convergence are proved under the local error bound and the Hölderian continuity conditions, which are weaker than the nonsingularity and the Lipschitz continuity, respectively. Numerical results show that the algorithm is efficient and promising.
