- Abstract
An essay is presented on the Mexican cultural movement Movimiento Alterado, which produces music focusing on the world of drug trafficking known as narcocorrido. Particular attention is given to the emergence of the cultural phenomenon known as Narcoculture or Narcocultura in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico during the government of president Felipe Calderón from 2006 to 2012, in the context of the war on drug. Participants of the movement include Omar Valenzuela, Adolfo Valenzuela, and Gerardo Ortiz.
