- Abstract
The article focuses on a study that assessed the clinical effects of intraoperative histological examination of the ductal resection margin in patients with extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma. Histological classifications including insufficient, negative for malignancy, undetermined lesion and positive for malignancy (PM) were used. A link between the clinical outcome and PM in intramural lesions discovered during intraoperative histological examination was established. A table showing data on overall survival and anastomotic recurrence is presented.
