- Abstract
The article comments on a study on the prevalence of elevated blood lead levels (EBLL) in children admitted to the hospital with and without clinical diagnosis of encephalopathy carried out in India, published within the issue. It says the study involved young subjects, between 4 and 10 years old. It cites that a strong link between EBLL and predictors, such as physical wasting and anemia, was determined by the researchers. It notes the potential of ayurvedic medicines to cause lead contamination.
