- Abstract
The article illustrates teaching and learning practices before and after the introduction of a new model of care at a large metropolitan emergency department (ED). Topics discussed include the implementation by the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) of the Two-Hour Evaluation and Referral Model for Shortern Turn-around Times (Thermostat) that uses hot assessment zones and cold step down areas and the impact of Thermostat on teaching and learning.
