- Authors
Meacham, Thomas
- Abstract
The article discusses the inclusion of the epistolary performance in university drama in the late medieval period in England. It examines the art of letter writing and its potential for performance, and explores how the performance of medieval university letters can be both creative and didactic through their connection to treaties on the art of letter writing. Moreover, it cites some manuscripts to analyze the pedagogical and performative relationship between the art of letter writing and the so-called mock letters.
