- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of teaching children in a pre-kindergarten to second grade program about materials within the context of a science curriculum, as well as provides resources for teaching a physical materials lesson. It addresses early childhood standards from the U.S. National Science Education Content Standards, the National Association for the Education of Young Children's All Criteria Document, and The Head Start Child Development and Early Learning Framework.
