- Abstract
Isolona campanulata Engler & Diels from Côte-d'Ivoire produces a sesquiterpene rich-oil. Detailed analysis of a sample of leaf oil by a combination of chromatographic techniques (CC, GC-RI) and 13C-NMR spectroscopy allowed the identification of 73 components. The oil was dominated by eudesm-5-en-11-ol, ( E)- β-caryophyllene and α-humulene. Two compositions emerged from the analysis of seven other samples, depending on the contents of the major components: eudesm-5-en-11-ol or ( E)- β-caryophyllene/ α-humulene.
