- Abstract
The article presents the results of a survey on professionals' use and non-use of referrals to residential treatment programs for children in their age of latency. The author compares the understanding of children respondents in mental settings and those in residential settings. Survey implications are considered for planning residential and non-residential mental health services for children and their families. It considers the role of government funding for the residential treatment of children.
