- Title
Practicing Memorization: Score-writing Techniques.
- Authors
Chiu, Frederic
- Abstract
The article discusses music memorizing and music score-writing techniques. Topics include the need to copy the entire score to a blank manuscript paper to appreciation of the composer's and typesetter's labor; the need to transcribe the piece into another genre: piano to string quartet, piano to two piano and so on to empathy with composer; and the need to put score in the furthest, most inconvenient spot in the house for creating anticipation to remember the experience.
