- Abstract
Taking Longjiao No. 10 as the test material, when the pepper seedlings grew to 6 true leaves, the leaves were sprayed with different concentrations of melatonin (MT) solution 0 (T1), 50 (T2), 100 (T3), 150 ( T4), 200 (T5) and 250 (T6) μmol·L-1, to study the effects of different concentrations of melatonin on chlorophyll content, chlorophyll fluorescence parameters, relative conductivity, soluble sugar, malondialdehyde in pepper seedlings under low temperature and low light stress conditions (MDA) content and the activity of antioxidant enzymes. The results showed that: under low temperature and weak light stress (15℃/5℃, 100 μmol·m-2·s-1) for 7 days, compared with T1, exogenous After spraying 100 μmol·L-1 melatonin solution (T3), the total chlorophyll content and soluble sugar content increased by 25.72% and 52.88%, respectively. The actual photochemical efficiency Y(Ⅱ), photochemical quenching coefficient qP, photochemical quenching qL Significantly increased by 43.79%, 36.99% and 33.88%, respectively, the activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) were significantly increased by 66.31%, 56.65%, and the content of superoxide anion and relative conductivity decreased significantly, respectively To sum up, foliar spraying of melatonin can increase the chlorophyll content, chlorophyll fluorescence characteristics and antioxidant capacity of pepper leaves under low temperature and low light stress, and increase the soluble sugar content. The stress resistance was best treated with 100 μmol·L-1 melatonin solution.
