- Abstract
The article discusses about the development the Draft Nuclear Doctrine (DND), which outlines the broad principles for the development, deployment and employment of nuclear forces in India. DND was developed after the country conducted a nuclear test, which was termed as a peaceful nuclear explosion, and was followed by a full scale nuclear test and subsequently claimed to attain nuclear capability. However, its release has raised a number of nuclear issues and questions the statement in the draft claiming that the country will not conduct more nuclear tests.
