This article provides information about the book "State Intervention and Business in China: The Role of Preferential Policies," by Ding Lu and Zhimin Tang. This book studies the investor-oriented preferential policies, which treat different categories of investors differently; the region-oriented preferential policies, including the policies favoring the Special Economic Zones and the in- dustry-oriented preferential policies, which refleet China's industrial policy and development strategies. It highlights the trends of policy changes and discusses the prospects of China's state interventionist development strategy.
