The article discusses a service learning project offering cultural diversity training to professionals in Appalachian Ohio as a foundational component of community engagement-focused social work program. Topics include service learning in social work classrooms, community engagement, and the Culture of Poverty and Appalachian Cultural History training class for guardians ad litem (GALs) at Court Appointed Special Advocates for Clermont Kids (CASA) in Clermont County, Ohio Juvenile Court.
