- Abstract
Although pregnancy rates have declined over the last 20 years, adolescents who become pregnant are viewed as a group at risk for adverse outcomes. In many instances, this view conflicts with the perception of the pregnant teen. Healthcare providers who work with this population have an essential role in ensuring a positive experience for the mother, father, and family network. This paper provides a brief review of adolescent pregnancy and the general role of the healthcare provider.
